OMER COUTU On Friday August 4, 2000 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Winnipeg, Omer Coutu aged 57 years beloved husband of Jessie Coutu of St. Laurent. Born December 2, 1942 at St. Laurent, Omer lived in St. Laurent most of his life. He had been a carpenter until his health forced him to retire. Surviving besides his wife Jessie; children, Sandra (Guy) of Boudreau, Corey (Brenda), Kevin (Denise) all of Calgary; nine grandchildren, Tanya, Guy, Tiffany, April, Tyler, Tristan, Tashina, Dakota and Chad. His father and mother Harvey and Florence Coutu of St. Laurent; brothers and sisters, Doris (Lloyd) Sloane of Calgary, Rose (Ken) Hogg of Saskatoon, Albert (Patsy) of Winnipeg, Victor (Karen) of Winnipeg, Emile (Marion) of St. Laurent, Roland (Marilyn) of Calgary, Linda (Dave) Palmer of Calgary, Corine (Claude) Perreault of St. Laurent, Cyril (Debbie) of Winnipeg, Leonard (Anita) of Calgary, Douglas (Wendy) of Calgary, Neil of Calgary, Larry (Wendy) of Calgary; mother-in-law Annette Bruce of St. Laurent; brothers and sisters-in-law, Norman and June McKay of Winnipeg, Earl and Pat Bruce of Calgary, Denis and Joyce Dumont of St. Laurent, Roland Jr. and Cheryl Bruce of St. Laurent, Alex and Joanne Domok of St. Laurent; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father-in-law Roland Bruce. Prayers will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 8 followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Laurent R.C. Church. Rev. Fr. Guy Lavallee OMI will officiate. The service will conclude at the church with cremation to follow. Pallbearers will be: Randy Perreault, Jim McKay, Roland Bruce Jr., Cyril Coutu Jr., Christopher Hogg and Albert Coutu Jr. The family wish to express their sincere thanks to the Riverview Palliative Care Unit and the Seven Oaks Hospital, 3rd, 4th, and 5th floor nurses for their excellent care given to Omer.
