Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOYCE MARION ROTHWELL HOLMES On August 3, 2000 Joyce died at the Selkirk General Hospital. She is survived by Cheryl (Larry) Hauber of Stonewall; Glenis Holmes of Kelowna, B.C.; George (Diana) Holmes of Fort McMurray, Alta.; Dorothy (Tom) Walch, of Fort McMurray and Bruce (Astra) Holmes of Thompson. Also left to mourn their "Toot" are her 13 grandchildren, Loralee, David and Suzanne Hauber; Mathieu and Marcel Irnie; Jeff, Sandy and Jason Holmes; Mikel and Erika Walch; Devon, Quentin, and Ranata Holmes. She was predeceased by her husband, Rupert in 1994 and her sister Ruby Bell in 1982. Joyce (born May 22, 1927) grew up in Minnetonas, Man., until the age of 16. She then moved to Thunder Bay, Ont. She married Rupert in January, 1946. After raising five children, and retiring from the motel business, they moved to Kakabeka Falls, Ont. in 1982. Then they moved in 1987 to Stonewall. During those many years in the Thunder Bay area, and in Stonewall, Joyce and her family cherished their time at their cottage Sippi-gume at Cloud Lake. Joyce found such happiness in her greenhouse and garden. She loved to quilt for her children and grand-children. A Funeral Service will take place at MacKenzie Funeral Home in Stonewall, Man., on Monday, August 7 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Stonewall Cemetery. Reception will follow at the home of Cheryl Hauber. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Anglican Church of the Ascension, Stonewall. MacKenzie Funeral Home Stonewall in care of the arrangements.
