Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT (AL) LOUIS SEAVERS Peacefully, after a lengthy courageous battle with P.S.P., it is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Al Seavers, on Friday, August 4, 2000 at the Deer Lodge Centre with family by his side at the age of 70 years. Remaining to forever cherish his memory are his loving friend of 17 years, Ruth of Lockport, MB; sons, Ken and Michael (Cheryl) of Edmonton, Alta.; Lou (Darlene) and Allan of Winnipeg, Man.; grandchildren, Jennifer, Samantha, Timothy, Christopher, Michael Jr., and Stephanie; brother Ernest (Donna) nieces, Alana and Allison; as well as Als first wife Maureen; second wife Doris and daughter Renee and numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, George (Harry) Henry Seavers and Florence (nee Atkins) and by his half brother, George Henry Seavers Jr. Al served in the Armed Forces (Aero Tech) for 28 years, retiring in 1978 and then for the next 14 years, he worked at Boeing of Canada in tooling in which he retired in 1992. He enjoyed his life to the fullest. His favorite pastimes were fishing, camping, bowling and curling. Al was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion and he will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects this evening, Tuesday, August 8 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Memories in Wojciks Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue at Sharp Boulevard and prior to Als Funeral Service which will be held on Wednesday, August 9 at 2:00 p.m. in the Deer Lodge United Church, 2093 Portage Avenue at Belvidere Street. Interment will follow in the Military Section of Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba. Our family greatly acknowledges the kindness and exemplary care provided by the fine and devoted caregivers, Dr. M. El-Tair and staff of Deer Lodge Centre 2 South and also a special thanks to the Royal Canadian Legion #215 for all their help. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Als memory to the Parkinson Foundation of Canada, 204-825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5 or to a charity of your choice.
