DOREEN MITCHELL On Saturday, August 5, 2000, at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, Doreen Mitchell, aged 63 years, of Stonewall, Man. Doreen was born in Winnipeg on February 23, 1937. In 1954 she enlisted in the Canadian Air Force and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Stonewall Branch #52. Predeceased by her son Gary; her parents Charles and Myrtle Puddifant; sister Marj (Scott) Campbell; brothers, Frank Puddifant (June), Harold Puddifant (Helen), Jim Puddifant; niece Faith Campbell. Survived by her special friend Alvin Good and daughters, Terry Ripley (Steve) and Cheryl Mitchell (Bob) stepchildren, Brent (Dana), Kim (Clayton) and Sean (Monica). Also surviving are brothers, Allan Puddifant (Blanche), George Puddifant (Edna) and sister Shirley (Jack) Knapp; sister-in-law Dolly Puddifant; grandchildren, Jonathon and Jeffery Ward, Blair McEwan, Chris and Jason Strong, Curtis Barbour, Amber Good, Quinton Stamler, Sydney Stamler and Logan Good; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 9, at 2:30 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall, with Legion Rites. Special thanks to Dr. Taylor and the staff at the MICU Health Sciences Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
