HELEN KORK Peacefully on August 4, 2000, at Grace Hospital, our beloved mother and grandmother passed away after a short battle with cancer. Even this terrible disease couldnt diminish her warm and loving spirit. Helen was born on January 4, 1928, in Mountain Road, Man. She married Stanley Kork on August 29, 1953. She was a homemaker throughout the years her children were growing up, spending her time volunteering at their schools. During this time, she also cared for her husbands parents. When her children were grown, she worked at Grace Hospital where she met many friends. After retiring, her grandchildren were the focal point in her life; holding a very special place in her heart. She took great pride in her house and garden. She will be forever remembered by her daughter Bev; son Dennis and wife Judi; and grandchildren, Chelsea, Graeme and Rachel. She was predeceased by her sister Anne in 1972, father Metro in 1975, mother Jessie in 1977 and husband Stanley in 1990. "Grandma Kork" will be remembered by her grandchildrens friends for her cookies, perogies and funny stories. She always had time for lunch with the ladies, talks with dear friends and dinners with her family. Bevs friends will remember long chats with "Helen" on the front porch. Her warmth and sense of humour will be greatly missed. The family wishes to thank Drs. Albak, Chernick, Heywood, Mulder and Rittenberg for their compassionate care. To our special angel Roseanne at Assiniboine Clinic, we cant thank you enough. Our sincere thanks to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Grace Hospital. Your support and care meant so much to all of us. Pallbearers will be Mel Chesley, Bob de Graaf, Tom Hargreaves, Alfred Schellenberg, Don Smith and Gib Ward. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 9, at 11:00 a.m. at Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Interment at Transcona Cemetery. If friends desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Grace Hospital Foundation - "For The Palliative Care Unit," 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, Man., R3J 3M7. "Well love you forever" VICHNAYA PAMYAT
