Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOYCE HUTCHINSON (nee LINK) Sadly, we announce the peaceful passing of our Mother and "Nanny" at the Grace Hospital, on August 6, 2000, with her loving family at her side. Joyce was born January 24th, 1921, in Portage la Prairie and lived the overwhelming majority of her life in Sturgeon Creek. She attended Bannatyne School before leaving to begin her working life at Swifts Meats and later at Eatons. In 1946, she married Hubert and together they raised four children. Through the busy years of caring for her family, she still found time to support the auxiliary of Sir Arthur Currie Legion and to curl in the Sunday morning legion league. In later years, she was able to enjoy travel to a variety of destinations, including much of Canada, England, Switzerland, and Hawaii. Joyce took pleasure in her yard, garden, pets, and just relaxing in her "caboose". Her greatest joy was her nine grandchildren, always showing great interest in their daily lives and taking pride in all their accomplishments. Throughout the trials and tribulations of her life, to her last days, she displayed tenacity, a zest for life, and a great sense of humour. Joyce was predeceased by her beloved Hubert and grandson, Christopher in 1998. Mum will be greatly missed by her family, Bill, Karen, Jeffrey, Danny, and Scott of Teulon; Bob, Shirley, and Ryan of Warren; Dorothy, Brent, and Bryan of Winnipeg; Jim, Norma, Amanda, and Kali of Winnipeg; and brother-in-law, Basil of Winnipeg. Also left to mourn are numerous relatives and friends. Friends and relatives are invited to a Memorial Service at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., on Thursday, August 10 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6. Brent and Bryan will miss you very much Nanny. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
