HORACE J.A. REMILLARD It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of our father and grandfather Horace Remillard at the Foyer Valade Nursing Home on Saturday, August 5 at the age of 92. Horace was a volunteer in the Canadian Forces in 1939 at the beginning of the Second World War. He served in Great Britain, Holland, Belgium, France and Germany. He returned to Germany for Nato Duties from 1955 to 1957, retiring from the armed forces upon his return from Europe in 1957. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and clasp, The War Medal 1939-1945, The Defense Medal, France and Germany Star and the Canadian Decoration Medal. Dad was predeceased by his wife Gabrielle Abgrall in 1991. He leaves to cherish his memory, three sons, Yves (Berthe), Frank (Ann), Alain (Irma) grandchildren, Michel (Jeannie), Guy (Moneca), Gisele Remillard, Alice Walker (Dave) and Paul Remillard; great-grandchildren, Ariel, Tia, Marc, Adrien and Matthew. He also leaves to mourn a sister Flore Campeau and two brothers, Neil and Jim Remillard; sister-in-law Sister Marie Adgrall and brother-in-law Yves Adgrall and his wife Mary. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and the staff of Foyer Valade Nursing Home for their compassionate care and their dedication towards our father while he was in their care. Prayers will be said on Thursday, August 10 at 7:30 p.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 11 at 10:30 a.m. at Precieux Sang Roman Catholic Church, 200 Kenny St., Rev. Fr. M. Toupin presiding. Viewing one half hour prior to service time at the church. Interment Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in his memory to the Foyer Valade, 450 River Rd., Winnipeg R2M 5M4. KNYSH FUNERAL CHAPEL 582-0973
