KSANIA (SADIE) RYSIEW (nee KURKA) With sadness the family announces the death of our beloved Mother Ksania on Wednesday, August 2, 2000. Mom was born in Sielec Belski, Sokal, Poland on Saturday, February 6, 1909. Predeceased by our Father, Saweli, January 1970. Left to mourn are her daughters, Anne Lariviere, Mary Lang (Norman) sons, Morris (Corrine) of Edmonton, Bill (Brenda) of Vancouver; grandchildren, Ricky (Anita), Dan (Pat), Michael (Rhonda), Karen Lariviere, Jim, Tom, Greg Lang (Eileen), Susan Leonhardt, Louise Koswin (Ken), Barb Mymryk (Glen), Clare Burdett (Lloyd), Chris, Michele Rysiew, Patrick, Robbie (Minou), Kathy Rysiew (Glen Avent) and great-grandchildren to the Fifth Generation. Mom was a member of the Selkirk Seniors and did voluntary work there for many years. She worked for Eatons for 35 years. Her biggest job was supplying her kids with perogys, holopchi, homemade pickles, memories and all her love. Mom started travelling (with her daughters) to many other countries when she was 70. She loved Hawaii where she was picked Queen for a day, but loved home the best where her children were. Pallbearers will be her six grandsons, Rick, Dan, Michael, Jim, Tom and Greg. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, August 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 115 McGregor and Stella. Rev. Fr. Mikhail Kouts officiating.
