ROSE BURBELLA Peacefully on August 7, 2000, Rose died at the Selkirk General Hospital, the last survivor of 16 children, born to Anton and Cecilia Wozny. She was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1996. Rose is survived by her two sons, William (Joan), Larry (Tammie) and six grandchildren, Sean, Jim, Mathew, Meagan, Laura and Curtis. Rose was born in Melrose, Man., married Peter in 1944 and resided on the family farm in Highland Glen. Her main interests were gardening, cooking and her family. In 1998 she moved to Selkirk where she met many new friends at the Knights Centre. Roses family was very important to her and played a major role in her life. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and a kind and loyal friend. Prayers will be said on Thursday, August 10 (tonight), at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home, and funeral mass will be celebrated on August 11 at 10:30 a.m. at the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church in East Selkirk with Fr. Harry Oliynek officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery. Her pallbearers will be Ted Wozny, Lloyd Wozney, Ron Drobot, Maurice Burbella, Sean and Jim Burbella. The family expresses their sincere thanks to the Selkirk General Hospital staff and the home care workers at the Knights Centre. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
