RUSSELL THOMAS JOHNSON BERNES Peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre, after a short illness, Russell Thomas Johnson Bernes passed away at the age of 45 years. Russ was predeceased by his mother Geraldine and his aunt Ida Roy. He will be lovingly remembered by his brother Stan (Heather) his favourite nephew Merritt; his uncle Bob Roy; cousins, Butch, Murray, Kevin and their families. Russ loved socializing with friends over a cup of coffee in his local coffee shops. He was a lover of dogs and they all seemed to know him in the neighbourhood. Even the not so friendliest ones were won over by Russ personality. He was overwhelmed and proud to be an uncle of Merritt. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 11, at Brookside Cemetery in the family plot. Special thanks are extended to the nursing staff and doctors of H - 6 at the Health Sciences Centre for all their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Educational Fund for Russ nephew Merritt by sending to the Minnedosa Credit Union. KERRS FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements. Ph: 943-6688.
