AMBROSE GOTT Our father, Ambrose Robert Gott, known to his family, relatives and friends as "Oomin Atcheese", left us suddenly Tuesday, August 1, 2000 at No. 6 Highway, near St. Martin, MB, age 66 years. Ambrose Robert Gott was born Sunday, June 10, 1934 in Shoal River Reserve, MB. Our father was united in marriage to our mother Lena Catt, January 15, 1962 in Cedar Lake by Rev. Roy Hubbard. Left to cherish his memory and treasure his legacy of country music are his wife Lena; children, Melva, Donna (John), Donald (Lila), Milda (Henry Jr.), Aimee (Terry), Dorothy, mom Mary Gott; brothers, Adolphus and Edward Gott; sisters, Stella (Gerald), Edna (Harold), Rita; daughter-in-law Judy Gott. His great pride and joy were his 17 grandchildren, J.R., Jenna, Yonina, Una, Mika, Deena, Davey, Wyatt, Eric, Erin, Stacey, Melvin Michael, Cordell, Rikki, Damian, Kyro, Amber; as well as numerous other special relatives. Ambrose was predeceased by his two sons, Carmen and Melvin Gott; his father Abraham Gott; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary and John Catt. Ambrose was a good father and provider for his family and he never failed to show that he would do anything for us, his children. If one of us were stranded somewhere or in trouble - Dad always came to the rescue, even if it meant driving all night, he would not rest until his children were at home safe. Oomin Atcheese enjoyed singing Hank Williams Sr. songs and he had a great love for his dogs. He also like to travel anywhere, anytime, and he had many friends from all over. Ambrose was a fisherman for 30 years until 1989. He then became a heavy equipment operator/supervisor for a number of years. Even though his health limited him, he was still active in part time road construction. Ambrose will be sadly missed by his family, friends, co-workers, and those who knew him as a friend. Akosi Patima, Dad, Husband, Grandpa, Rest in Peace A wake service was held Thursday, August 3 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m at Ambroses residence, Easterville and continued Thursday and Friday, August 4 at the Easterville Community Hall.
