RETTA PEARL BERTHELETTE (nee ELMHIRST) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, on August 5, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital. She passed away peacefully, following a lengthy illness. Retta was born in Carberry, MB on June 19, 1923 to John and Pearl Elmhirst. She was predeceased by her parents; her brother Jack and niece Marjory Hall. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Gwen (Rene) Nault; her grandchildren, Debra (Blake) Baerr, Danny, and Darryl (Kim) and her great-grandchildren, Renee and Chantel Nault and Courtney Baerr; sisters-in-law, Inga Elmhirst; her niece Claire DeAthe (Doug) and their children, Sharon (Laverne), Signe, and Sam, as well as by cousin Virgil Pulfer and his family. At Rettas request cremation has taken place and there will be no service. A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, August 13 at Prendergast Seniors Club at 906 Cottonwood (corner of Cottonwood and Autumnwood) from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined. Should friends so desire, please make donations to a favourite charity. God saw her getting tired, And a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around her And whispered, "Come with Me". With tearful eyes we watched her suffer And saw her fade away, Although we loved her dearly We could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating Hard working hands to rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
