OLGA "PETE" STEPHEN (nee GURMAN) Peacefully after a long courageous battle with cancer and heart disease, Pete succumbed to cancer with her family by her side, on August 10, 2000, at the age of 67 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Doug; children, Glenn (Sabrina Sarran), Scott, Andrea (Rob) Remple and Sharon; four beautiful grandchildren, Amanda, Andrew, Samantha and Tyler, numerous family and friends. Pete always made people laugh and she will be remembered by all for her great sense of humour. She was a great wife, mother and best friend. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15, at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. with Rev. Don Wilson presiding. Service will terminate at the chapel. A special thank you to all the staff of St. Boniface Hospital in the Emergency Department and to the nurses of the 5th floor, especially Jennifer, Denise and Alanis for the love, care and compassion shown to mom.
