Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY-JOYCE TESSIER (nee BEAVIS) October 4, 1938 - August 9, 2000 We grieve the sudden passing of our mother, Mary-Joyce on Wednesday, August 9, 2000 in the Arborg & District Hospital at the age of 61 years. She will always be cherished and deeply missed by her loving companion Fred Borgfjord; her three children, Lori (Rick) White, Vern (Serena) Tessier, Blaine (Laurel) Tessier; her grandchildren, Drew and Erik White, Aira and Reece Tessier. She also leaves behind her mother Jeanette Beavis; sister Elizabeth Laframboise; brothers, Sam (Florence) Beavis, Charlie (Elsie) Beavis; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends. She was predeceased by her daughter Tammy-Lee; father Sam Beavis; brother Warren Beavis, and sisters, Donna Meade, Lena Turnbull, and Elaine Beavis. Mary-Joyce was born and grew up in Crystal City, MB. At the age of 19 she moved to Winnipeg where she first worked as a switchboard operator at MTS and then Bristol Aerospace. She then dedicated her time and love to raising her children. Her home and heart were always open for friends and family. Her career in the restaurant industry began at Dutch Maid in St. James, Winnipeg. In 1978 the family moved to Arborg, MB where Mary-Joyce continued her career in the restaurant industry, culminating as manager of Chicken Chef, which she came to enjoy as her second family. Moms love for beautiful birds and flowers was only surpassed by her love for family and friends. The simple pleasures of life brought her much joy, which overflowed to all those who knew her. Especially when she would surprise us with her elaborate costumes for every occasion. Mom lived life to the fullest, was supportive and non-judgemental, her kindness was never-ending. She will be remembered and sadly missed by all. "GO WITH GOD" In accordance with Mary-Joyces wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service and celebration of Mary-Joyces life will be held on Monday, August 14 at 2:30 p.m. at the Arborg Community Hall with Pastor Tom Gerbrandt officiating. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8. MacKenzie Funeral Services, Arborg, in care of arrangements.
