GORDON MURRAY AIKMAN It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gord on Wednesday, August 9, 2000 at Riverview Health Centre. Gord was born May 4, 1929 in Transcona. He was predeceased by parents, Stuart and James and his brother Ken. Gord leaves to mourn his wife Evelyn; daughter Bev (Jim) son Gord (Joanne) and grandchildren, Courtney, Trevor, Jamison and Keith; brothers, James and Hugh; many family members and close friends. Gord retired from CNR after 39 years, initially as a Machinist and then as a Supervisor. He then worked as a Technical Representative for Ronsco Supply for 11 years. Gord had many interests and pursuits including: Member of Lodge No. 127 GRM, AP and AM, Member Chapter No. 11 R.A.M., King Edward Preceptory, Shrine Temple Pipes and Drums, Manitoba Pipes and Drums, formerly a Juvenile Hockey Convener with the G.W.M.H.A. and member of the Golden Falcon Golf Tournament Committee. His interests were varied and he excelled at whatever he set his mind to. Some of his favourites were photography, darkroom processing, and playing the bagpipes. Gord and the family truly appreciated the excellent care given by staff at Riverview Health Centre 3-East. Thanks also to Drs. Marr and Luk and V.O.N. Chris Carlyle. Gord was a quiet and gentle man with a wonderful sense of humour. Our memories will remain forever warm and bright. Flowers are gratefully declined. If you so desire, contributions can be made to the charity of your choice. A Celebration of Gords life will be held Monday, August 14 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (across from the Royal Canadian Mint). A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Lawn Reception Centre. Interment Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
