Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOUGLAS LYLE GRYTE 1922 - 2000 It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our Grampa, Douglas Lyle Gryte on Tuesday, August 8, 2000 at the age of 77 years. Grampa was born on October 23, 1922 in Elm Creek, MB, and is survived by daughters Linda, Carlene (Michael), Ingrid (David) and his only son Jeffrey, all of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Bob, Leanna (John), Sheri-Lynne (Chris), Tyler, Chozanne, Elayna and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Tanner and Carson; sisters, Ovedia (Mae) Olson of Regina and Verna Gryte of Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his parents Hilma and Andrew; twin brother Norman; brothers, Herb, Donald, Lorne, Lenwood, Gordon and sister Ruth. In his early years, Grampa worked for Brigdons, Trans Canada Airlines, Canadian National Railway, and the Government of Manitoba, but his happiest times were when he was self-employed as a painter. Painting allowed him to travel to Rankin Inlet, Churchill and Baffin Bay. Grampa had a flair for colors and artistic design and was always ready with a paintbrush to help decorate our homes. In the last few years of his life, Grampa had many health problems but his sense of humour remained strong. Grampa was very proud of his grandchildren and wished the best for them in their futures. e was especially proud and happy to become a new great-grandfather just 13 days before his passing. A private family graveside service will be held on Monday, August 14 in Brookside Cemetery. Our family would like to extend special thanks to the kindness of Marcie and June and the staff on Station 2 at Tuxedo Villa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the The Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Just think of him as living In the hearts of those he touched For nothing loved is ever lost And he was loved so much Always, Chozanne and Tyler WELL MISS YOU GRAMPS WOJCIKS FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
