ALICE ELIZABETH MENEC (nee HAGEN) After a year long battle with cancer, our Mom and Grandma Alice quietly and peacefully slipped away in her sleep on Wednesday, August 9, 2000 at the Riverview Health Centre. Alice was born in Elbow, Saskatchewan on March 30, 1925 and was raised in the care of her grandparents in McKague, Saskatchewan. After graduating from high school she moved with her aunt and uncle to Ste. Rose du Lac, Manitoba where she married and raised five children. In 1981, Mom moved to Winnipeg to be closer to her children, working at Neamans Pharmacy until she retired in 1991. She had a caring nature, touching the lives of all that knew her, always a loyal friend, loving mother and grandmother. Remaining to forever cherish Moms memory are her son and daughters; sons-in-law and daughter-in-law; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild and her many friends, especially Sue, Michelle and Dennis. Our family would like to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Evans; her Oncologist, Dr. Maksymiuk, Carla Franklin and all the staff at the Cancer Clinic. A special thanks to the staff on 3E at the Riverview Health Centre. Your caring support is greatly appreciated. In compliance with Moms wishes there will be no formal service at this time. Flowers are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Alices memory to the Cancer Care of Manitoba Foundation or the Riverview Health Centre.
