Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryADOLF ZACHARIAS Passed away suddenly on August 11, 2000. He was predeceased by his parents Heinrich and Alvine, and brother Edward, mother and father-in-law Helen and Peter Dech. He leaves behind wife Helen; sons Robert and Michael; brothers Julius Zacharias (Anne), Helmut Zacharias (Lynn) sisters Herta Scheirer, Linda Marx (Herbert) brother-in-law Frank Dech (Anita) sister-in-law Erna Dech and numerous nieces and nephews. He was born in Poland on December 14, 1927 and came to Canada in 1948. He worked for Imperial Steel Products until his retirement in 1992, being a very loyal employee for 44 years, and never missing a day due to illness. He married Helen in Morris in 1953. Dad enjoyed woodworking, especially making windmills, and gardening. He also enjoyed going to church and spending time at the cottage. He was always generous, kind and helpful to everyone. All the lives he touched will surely miss him. Dad will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace. Pallbearers will be Robert Zacharias, Michael Zacharias, Helmut Zacharias, Ed Zacharias, Alan Marx and Gary Marx. Viewing will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 15 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 16 at St. Peters Lutheran Church, 65 Walnut St., with Pastor Heimo Bachmeyer officiating. Interment Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. Peters Lutheran Church Memorial Fund at 65 Walnut St., Winnipeg, Man., R3G 1N9.
