Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNETTA MONICA BURNS (nee FLOOD) Suddenly, but peacefully, on Friday, August 11th, 2000, surrounded by her family at Grace Hospital, at the age of 73. Beloved wife to Ross. Annetta was predeceased by her parents, brother, Patrick Flood, sisters, Alice (Furlan) and Margaret Flood. Left to cherish her memory are husband of 50 years, Ross, five children, David, Loretta (Dan) Carpick, Patrick (Laura), Linda (Vince) Coyston, and Cathy (Bob) Bouchard, grandchildren, Ian and Kelly Carpick, Rachel, Stephen and Graham Burns. Also, brother, Cyril Flood of Charleswood, Charlie Flood of Ancaster, Ontario, and sister, Helen Moran of Portage La Prairie, plus numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Annetta was born in Winnipeg, the youngest of seven children to Daniel and Grace Flood (Kelly). She grew up on the family homestead in Charleswood, where she attended school and shared many happy family memories during her youth and early adulthood. Ross and Annetta were married September 2nd, 1950, and she devoted the next 50 years to raising their family, visiting with her grandchildren and "running the kitchen", which ensured that family gatherings went smoothly. Her kind and gentle nature, simple tastes, sense of humour, and acceptance of everyone endeared her to all who met and knew her. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, August 15, at 7:00 p.m. at John XXIII, Assiniboine Christian Centre. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 16 at 10:30 a.m., also at John XXIII. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. Thank you to the doctors and nurses at Grace Hospital Intensive Care Unit for their care and compassion. Thanks to all family members and friends for their support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations in Annettas memory to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
