BERTIL SIXTEN (BERT) ENANDER

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERTIL SIXTEN (BERT) ENANDER Mr. Bertil Sixten (Bert) Enander, beloved husband of Mrs. Betty Enander of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at the St. Michaels Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit, on Saturday, August 12, 2000 at the age of 79 years. Besides his loving wife Betty, Bert is survived by two sons, Kenn and Jon (Debbie) both of Lethbridge, and his granddaughter Kristin Enander. He is also survived by his five sisters, Elsie (John) Atamanchuck of Lethbridge, Marjorie (Wilfred) Nelson of Carman, MB, Violet (Jack) Bush of Sidney, BC, Betty Anderson of Winnipeg, MB, Hazel Graham of Sandy Hook, MB; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. He was also loved and admired by his stepsons, Jim (Roxine) Williams, David Williams; and stepdaughter Donna Firth-Dressell and their children and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Louie and Bertha Enander; his grandson Michael Enander, his greatest sorrow; and two brothers-in-law, Grayden Anderson and Jack Graham. Bert was born in Winnipeg on January 19, 1921 and grew up in Southern Manitoba. He inherited his parents love of music and played an accordion in the Carman area in a band led by his old friend Milt Woods. He and his first wife, Margaret, were married in 1944. They had two sons, Kenn and Jon. Bert worked at farming and carpentry. They moved to Lethbridge in 1956 where work was steadier. His love of curling and music added many pleasant memories to his life. He worked hard throughout his life at carpentry and as a route salesman for McGavins Bakery, etc. He cherished many trips to Manitoba to visit family and friends. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at Cornerstone Funeral Home, 2800 Mayor Magrath Dr. S., Lethbridge, on Tuesday, August 15 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will held at First United Church, where he and Betty were married in 1971, 502 - 13th St. N., Lethbridge, on Wednesday, August 16 at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Elizabeth Brown officiating. Cremation to follow. If family and friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to S.T.A.R.S., P.O.
