Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEO MARCIAL MENARD Peacefully at the Grace General Hospital, surrounded by his family on Friday, August 11, 2000, Mr. Leo Menard of Winnipeg, Man. passed away at the age of 81 years. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Yvonne (nee Masse) five children, Madeleine Kunzler (Siegfried), Denise Whynot (Douglas), Rene Menard, Claude Menard (Cathy) and Carolyn Menard; eight grandchildren, Tanja, Nicole and Michelle Kunzler, Andre Whynot, Leanne and Tyler Menard, and Julie and James Rudolph, two great-grandchildren, Cassandra and Andrew Kunzler. Leo also leaves to mourn his passing two sisters, Jeanne and Bertha Menard; one brother Ken Menard (Anne) one sister-in-law Flora (Aime) and numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Eva and Josephat Menard; seven brothers, Romeo (Germaine), Aime, Joseph (Louise), Armand, Jean (Ellen), Adelard, Jules (Raymonde and Therese), and by five sisters, Armandine, Della Melnic (Stanley), Eugenie, Diana, Simone Robert (Claude). Leo was born on the family farm in St. Eustache, Man. to Josephat Menard and Eva Bacon. He grew up and worked on the farm for 77 years. On October 17, 1950 Leo married Yvonne Masse and together raised five children. In 1995 he moved to Winnipeg after handing down the farm to his son Claude (the 4th generation to own the land). Leo was a member of the St. Eustache Church choir for over 50 years as well as a member of the Church Board. He served many years on various committees including time as president of the Community Club. He was a Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus. He was Trustee of the White Horse Plains School Division for 13 years, as well as Chairman from 1969-1971 and Vice Chairman in 1972. Family, farming, Faith and the Community were all very important to him and the cornerstones on which he lived his life. He will be sadly missed by all his friends and family. Funeral Services will be held in the St. Eustache Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 16. Recitation of the Rosary at 1:30 p.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m., Fr. Albert Lafreniere presiding. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Gilbert Robert, Leo Menard, Johnny Melnic, Lionel Menard, Alan Anderson and Raymond Menard. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice, or to the St. Charles Roman Catholic Church in Winnipeg. Adams Funeral Service of Elie, Man. in care of arrangements.
