DOROTHY TERRICK (nee KELSO) On Monday, August 14, 2000 at the Selkirk General Hospital, Dorothy Terrick passed away quietly, just as she lived, a few weeks after her 96th birthday. Dorothy was predeceased by husbands William A. King in 1955 and John Terrick in 1963. She will be lovingly remembered by her niece Carol (Marshal) Gardner and their children, nephews Joe and Ken Stephanson and their families; special and dear friends Eileen and Keith Cyr; sister Evelyn Ferguson of Roblin; stepsons Roy (Joan) King of Coldlake, Alta., William (Bill) And Evelyn King of Brantford, Ont., as well as many nieces nephews. Dorothy had a very full and happy career with Manitoba Telephone Systems. She worked as a telephone operator in several Manitoba communities, finally settling in Selkirk. Dorothy retired at age 65 only to begin again her on call work which lasted well into her seventies. Many of the telephone operators looked up to her for the values she embraced. She will be fondly remembered for the friend and role model she provided, ever witty and humourous. Her attitude towards aging was very positive. Shell be missed by family and friends. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held on Friday, August 18 at 11:00 a.m. in the Selkirk Lutheran Cemetery. Great thanks to her friend and doctor, Dr. A. Wozney and to the nurses of Selkirk General Hospital. Dorothy also would have wished to express her deep gratitude to her dear friend Eileen Cyr, who was there for her always. "Rest In Peace Aunti Dot" Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
