Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryED DOLYNCHUK It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our husband and father on Friday, August 11, 2000, at 65 years of age. Ed will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his loving wife Elsie of 43 years, his son Ed, and daughter Sandra. He is survived by mother Elsie; sister Helen (Jack) Bially; brother Lawrence (Sonja) sister-in-law Elda; mother-in-law Mary Shewchuk; sister-in-law Ann (Dan) McDonald; three godchildren, Diana Boileau, Ed Bially, and Lucy Trainor; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by father Nicola Dolynchuk in 1982, sister Marusa in infancy, nephew Jarvis Jr. in 1979, and brother Jarvis in 1999. Ed was born in Vita, MB on August 21, 1934 and grew up on the family farm in Caliento, MB, receiving his education at Kupezenko E. and W. Ed and Elsie were married on October 19, 1957 in Stuartburn and had two loving children. The family settled in Vita in 1962. Over the years Ed had several occupations and trades: hauling gravel and hay, working at CN Railways, driving the school bus for Boundary School Division, managing and caretaking the Shady Oak Lodge, realtor for Century 21 agencies in Steinbach, and operating a beef farm. Ed enjoyed people and was proud to serve his community. He was the first reeve for the LGD of Stuartburn and served for 14 years in addition to being on the Advisory Council prior to 1975. Ed also held positions on numerous boards and committees including the Vita and District Health Centre, the Vita Vet Clinic, The Vita Credit Union, Vita Co-op, Ukrainski Narodny Fund, Shevchenko Sr. Citizens Board, and Triple-R Community Futures, in addition to spending many hours volunteering his time for the Vita Ambulance Service, Vita Fire Department, and Vice President of the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church. Ed was a strong family man who lived for his children who were his pride and joy. He enjoyed hunting as well as keeping the yard in park-like condition. Prayers will be held at Loewen Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, August 16 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 17 at 10:30 a.m. at the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church (Sopiwnyks). Interment to follow at Parish Cemetery; Fr. Ihor Royik officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church. It breaks our hearts to lose you But you did not go alone For part of us went with you The day God called you home. Though your smile is gone forever And your hand we cannot touch We will never lose the memory Of one we loved so much. Thanks for the loving years you gave us The happy time we shared We all pray that when you left us You knew how much we cared. Our family chain is broken And nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one The chain will link again. We love you, we miss you, and we dont know how well live without you. May God grant him eternal memory. Vichnaya Pamyat! Arrangements entrusted to Loewen Funeral Chapel of Steinbach. 204-326-1351.
