FRANCES KOZAK 1924 - 2000 It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of their beloved wife, mom and gramma, Frances Kozak (Neduzak), on Sunday, August 13, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital, after a courageous struggle with cancer. She will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Mona and husband Raymond, Cheryl and husband John, Sandra and husband Gerry and her husband of 53 years Walter (Jingles), as well as her five loving grandchildren, Jaimie, Jordon, Alaina, Fraser and Madison; her sisters, Helen, Violet and Stella and her husband Ray; her nieces and nephews, extended family and many special friends. Frances was the daughter of Alfred and Pauline Neduzak and grew up in Garson, Man. They later moved to Winnipeg where Frances met her husband Walter. Together they farmed in the Narol district where they raised their family. Besides being a very busy mother and wife, Frances was a founding member of the Donald Ladies Auxiliary and had always been an active member of the community. Throughout her life, Frances enjoyed many hours of sewing, quilting and crocheting. She worked hard to maintain a bountiful strawberry patch and huge family garden. She also enjoyed her years of employment at Zellers. During her retirement she devoted her time to exploring her vast talents in craft making, gardening and decorating. She thoroughly enjoyed competing in Manitoba Society for Seniors Summer Games. Her retirement was enhanced by the time spent with her many special friends bowling, playing cards, visiting the casino and splitting the Bingo pot with Helen. No task was ever too big for Mom in order to help her daughters and their families. Gramma always made family holidays even better with her wonderful baking and cooking, her holiday decorations and the many thoughtful gifts she showered upon us. We would like to thank the Selkirk home care workers, VON nurse Maureen for her cheery visits, CancerCare Manitoba nurses Denise and Kathy for their on going support and guidance, Joan from Palliative Care for making Moms last days so comfortable, Dr. Duerksen and Dr. Ilnyckyj for their care and concern, special friend Helen for keeping Moms spirits up and our angel on earth, Barb, who helped Mom travel down that long road. (We knew that Mom will be in that Dragon Boat with you!). Thank you to all of our friends and family for their prayers and comforting words. Pallbearers will be, John Kehler, Gerry Allford, Raymond Moreau, nephew Grant Panchuk and grandchildren, Jaimie Kehler and Jordon Yvon-Moreau. Honorary pallbearers will be, Helen Kotowich, Lucille Oleschuk, Jean Zibroski, Ray Fisher, Steve Kotowich and Fred Kosack. Although flowers were an enjoyable part of Moms life, they are gratefully declined. If friends so desire a memorial donation may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface General Hospital, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, Man. in Frances name. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 17 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre. Interment at Brookside Cemetery will follow the reception. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 4477 MAIN STREET 338-7111
