Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERMAIN VANDAL On Sunday, August 13, 2000, at the St. Boniface Hospital, "Gentle Germain" passed away into the loving arms of his beloved "maman" surrounded by his adoring family. He leaves to mourn his passing, his children, Claudette, Raymond (Marguerite), Darlene (Christopher), Suzette (Kevin), and Richard; grandchildren, Destry, Louis, Kristie, Lacey and Nicole; great-grandchildren, Danielle and Zack; "belles-soeurs", Alphonsine, Dorilda, et Marguerite, as well as nieces, nephews and many, many friends too numerous to mention. Germain was predeceased by his wife, Flore (nee St. Godard) parents, Patrice and Vitaline (nee Jerome) and by all of his siblings, Louise, Willie, Marguerite, Ida, Eugene and Maurice. Pepere was born on August 9, 1912 in St. Jean-Baptiste, Man. He was a hard-working man and a devoted and doting father who never spanked his children but instead, showered them with love and kisses. His children meant the world to him. "Gentle Germain" was a charismatic and vibrant man who loved to tease people. He had a wonderful sense of humour and he was known by all for the size of his heart and his capacity for love. He never hesitated to help anyone in need. Germain retired at the age of 69 after many skilled and tireless years of driving semi-detached transport. Germain could, quite literally, drive an eighteen-wheeler backwards and often worked at two jobs at once to provide for those he loved. The family would like to thank the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital Emergency and his doctors and nurses on 5A for their care and compassion. To the nurses and orderlies at the Tache Centre who cared for him with love, you know who you are, (especially Dads Anne) our heartfelt thanks. Funeral services will be held at Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald St., on Friday, August 18, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. The service will terminate at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society. Dad kept his dignity and his strong desire for independence till the end. "Until we meet again Dad." LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220.
