AMANDA MARIE DESIATNYK It is with saddened hearts, we announce the passing of our dear daughter and sister Amanda Marie at the Womens Centre (H.S.C.) on Tuesday, August 15, 2000 at the tender age of 17. Amanda will be greatly missed by her parents, Wayne and Norma; brother Jeff; maternal grandfather John Samocha; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and her special pet Onyx. She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Steve and Margaret; and uncle Raymond; maternal grandmother Ann; and uncle Dennis; maternal great-grandparents, Daniel and Pearl Shumsky. Amanda was born on April 25, 1983 at the Concordia Hospital. She attended school at Springfield Heights, Chief Peguis and presently at River East Collegiate. Amanda loved music and took violin lessons in her earlier years. She also danced with the Rozmai Dance Ensemble and enjoyed playing baseball and mostly enjoyed her rides through Kildonan Park. She was past honoured Queen of Jobs Daughters, Bethel No. 9, and also held a part-time job at Revy as a cashier until her illness. Funeral service will held on Friday, August 18 at 2:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., with Fr. Cornell officiating. Cremation to follow. Honorary pallbearers will be Melissa Evanochko, Stephanie Keith, Michelle Lopes, Heather Zolinski, John Carson, Chris Desiatnyk, Curt Desiatnyk, Matt Gawalko, Danny Olfert and Danny Staff. Amanda lived with cancer for the past nine and a half months. She carried herself with much dignity and gracefulness. She had many friends, young and old who supported her in numerous ways. On behalf of Amanda, we would like to express our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for everyones acts of kindness and prayers. Special thanks are extended to Drs. Lotocki, Krepart, Heywood, Rittenburg, Jones and Martens, all the nurses and hospital staff on WR and WS 5 of the Womens Centre who did their utmost for Amanda and her family. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Amandas memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 9Z9. Biggie will be remembered and sadly missed by all whose hearts she touched. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements 586-8044.
