KATHERINE La FORREST (nee MATHESON) Peacefully on Monday, August 14, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Katie La Forrest passed away at the age of 65 years. Katie was predeceased by her husband Danny; two sons, Brian and Ronnie; her parents, Elizabeth and Angus; brothers, Andrew, William, Earl, Sandy; and sister Bessie; granddaughter Tammy; and great-grandson Randy. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kathy La Forrest, Tom La Forrest, Lena Sanford, Albert Peary and Debbie Johnston; grandchildren, Andrew, Adam and Anthony Johnston, Brian, Brad and Brent Sanford, Jennifer and Diane Grisedale; great-grandchildren, Alisha and Justice Sanford; her brothers, Jim (Norma), John, George (Penny), Hugh (Linda) and sister Lisa (Howard) her special friend Roy; and family friend Stan Cook. Katie was born on July 4, 1935 in Moosehorn, MB. Around 1960 she moved to Winnipeg and lived there until her passing. Visitation will take place on Friday, August 18 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 19 at 11:00 a.m., also in the chapel. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for the kind and loving care they gave to our Mom.
