BARBARA ANN WALSH (PETERKIN) (nee Cheney) Peacefully, following a lengthy illness, Barbara Walsh passed away on Tuesday, August 15 in the Vista Park Lodge at the age of 66 years. Barbara is survived by her husband Edward "Ted" Walsh; son David (Ana) daughter Wendy (Bill) grandchildren, Bryan and Michael Peterkin; mother-in-law Margaret Peterkin, all of Winnipeg; brother Robert A. Cheney of Saskatoon; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Marion Cheney; and by her first husband Bryan C. Peterkin. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Barbara had a zest for life. She loved tennis, curling and bowling and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. There will be a celebration of Barbaras life at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 19 in the Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, with the Rev. T. Hidichuk officiating. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Vista Park Lodge for the years of care, kindness and friendship given to Barbara.
