Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN IRWIN DAWSON The death of John Irwin Dawson, beloved husband of Vicki of Brandon, occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Thursday, August 17, 2000. John was born October 10, 1943 in Laurier, Man. In his early years he received his schooling in Laurier and later attended College in Winnipeg. John was a self-employed welder by profession for 30 years, working on various pipeline jobs for many of those years. During this time he formed many long term relationships. He was an active member of Union Local #254. John was also an executive member with the Brandon Gun Club and was a member with Ducks Unlimited. He was a real outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, raising exotic birds, trapshooting, fishing, gardening, horseback riding and stock cars. John thoroughly enjoyed special times with his granddaughters. He truly enjoyed life to the fullest. John will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Vicki; daughters, Cherrie (Doug) Naylan, Shawna and Amber; stepson Trevor Falk; stepdaughter Loreena (Murray) Sutherland; two granddaughters, Andriana and Cierra Sutherland; father and mother-in-law Metro and Verna Kobelka. Also surviving are sisters, Edith Bourgoin and Margaret Clifford; brother Harold (Pauline) Ward; sister-in-law Julie (John) Dunn; brothers-in-law, Henry Wolf, Rick (Marie) Kobelka, Ron Kobelka, Ken (Faye) Kobelka, Larry (Karen) Kobelka, Bill (Cindy) Kobelka and sister-in-law Arlene (Rob) Patterson. Numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive. A time of visitation will be held at Memories Chapel, 330 - 18th Street North, Brandon on Sunday, August 20 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the chapel on Monday, August 21 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Kobelka, Miles Kobelka, Mark Kobelka, Richard Ward, Bill Ward and John Ward. Members of the Brandon Gun Club and special friends are all considered honorary pallbearers. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of John may be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements are with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, Brandon, 727-0330.
