Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANK WILLIAM VEERT Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Frank Veert, age 70, passed away on August 16, 2000 at the Seven Oaks Hospital. Frank is survived by his wife of 47 years, Elizabeth; four children, Valerie (Edward) Sigurdsson of Calgary, Sandra (Gordon) Cole of Winnipeg, John (Kathy) Veert of Emerson, and Angela (Michael) Gottfred of Carman; and nine loving grandchildren. Frank is also survived by his brother Lawrence (Kay) Veert; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his parents, John and Pauline. In his youth Frank played Junior Hockey in Brandon, Flin Flon and Evelyth, MN. He had a successful career as a car salesman for 40 years. He took pride in the many lasting friendships he made of both colleagues and customers. In his retirement Frank continued to enjoy making deals. He also loved attending his grandchildrens sporting events, soccer, baseball, lacrosse, and especially hockey. Prayers will be held on Sunday, August 20 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, August 21 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josephs Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave., with a Redemptorist Father officiating. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his three sons-in-law, Ed, Gord and Mike; as well as three of his grandsons, Adam and Matthew Kwiecien and Phillip Cole. The remaining grandchildren should consider themselves to be his honorary pallbearers, Julie Cole, Vanessa, Christina and Frank Jr. Veert, Gus and Jack Gottfred. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the many friends and relatives who visited Frank during his illness. Also thank you to Dr. S. Koven, Dr. S. Cleghorn, Seven Oaks Hospital staff, and especially the emergency staff who came to know Frank by name. Special thanks from the family to Fr. John Pazak for his visits to Frank at the hospital.
