CAROLINE MARIA HADATH (nee WYNS) February 13, 1902 - August 16, 2000 Peacefully on Wednesday, August 16, 2000, Caroline Maria Hadath passed away at Riverview Health Centre. Caroline is survived by sons, George (Joan) and Bob (Valerie) and daughter Megnon Thompson (Herb) 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Caroline was predeceased by husband James Anthony in 1957; sons, Roy, Jimmy, Richard, and Donald; brothers, Frank, Jan, and Donnie; sisters, Maria, Flora, Josephine, Jean, and Louise. Caroline was born on February 13, 1902 in Heist o/d Berg, Halaar, Belgium. She emigrated from Belgium October 22, 1922 and lived on a farm in St. Rose de Lac where she learned English. May of the following year, she came to St. Boniface where she functioned in the capacity of a midwife for a number of St. Boniface physicians from 1923 to 1926 when she met and married her husband Jim. After raising her family, her career took her to care for mentally handicapped children at St. Amant and then to care for the elderly in private nursing homes until she retired in 1971. She has been a loving, supportive mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Loved and cherished, she will be sadly missed by all. Family and close friends will gather at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 21 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. for a funeral service. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8 or the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6.
