ANNE McARTHUR BARNWELL (nee NICOLL) Peacefully on Thursday, August 17, 2000, at the Meadowood Manor P.C.H., our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Anne McArthur Barnwell passed away at the age of 94 years. She was born in Sarnia, ON on July 26,1906 to William and Annie Nicoll. She met Gordon Barnwell while working at the Bank of Commerce and they married in 1935. They had 65 happy years of marriage. She leaves to mourn her memory her husband Gordon, also a resident of Meadowood Manor P.C.H.; her daughter Jo-Anne Znidarsic and husband Branko; grandchildren, Barbara and Andrea Znidarsic; a niece Diane Kelly and husband Marvin;, as well as extended family members and friends. Mom was loved by all who knew her. She had a great sense of humour and loved life. In her younger years she loved to go horseback riding and took riding lessons while engaged to Gordon. She worked 18 years as a stenographer, after moving to Winnipeg, working at the Red Cross and Community Chest during their annual campaigns. Her greatest enjoyment, however, was her family. A memorial service will be held at a future date. Our family wishes to thank all the staff at Meadowood Manor for their compassionate care.
