ALICE DESROSIERS (nee MENSIES) It is with deep sadness, after a lengthy illness, that the family announces the passing of their wife, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Alice Desrosiers at the St. Boniface Hospital on Friday, August 18, 2000 at the age of 54 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Harm and Henderika Mensies; her brother Henk and her stepfather Wietze Massink. Alice will be missed by her husband of 35 years, John; her children, Charlene (Grant) Cline, Paula, David, Denise (Kevin) Douglas; grandchildren, D.J. and Matthew Cline. She is also survived by her brother Gerad (Lillian) sister Willy; best friend Jacquie and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and friends in Canada and in the Netherlands. Alice was born September 11, 1945 in Yde, Drenthe, Netherlands. She moved to Canada with her family in 1956. Married in 1965, John and Alice resided in St. Boniface where they raised their family. Alices passions were music and gardening. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren whom will miss her greatly. The family wishes to express their thanks to all the doctors and nurses for their compassionate care and kindness. Prayers will be said at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 20 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (across from the Royal Canadian Mint). Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 21 also at the Glen Lawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Garden of Devotion, Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens with a time of fellowship to follow in the Glen Lawn Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alices memory to Cancer Care Manitoba, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9. "You will be lovingly remembered."
