VIVIAN FLORENCE MORTON (nee MINTON) Tragically at the Health Sciences Centre on August 17, 2000 Vivian, beloved wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away. She was predeceased by her father, William and brother Ronald. Vivian will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 45 years, Robert, sons Robert (Janice), Peter, Brian (Colleen), Michael (Michelle), Winnipeg, and her daughter Linda Hoban (Daniel) of Calgary, Alberta. Vivian is also survived by her grandchildren Christopher (Tara), Tamara (Paul), Tyson, Samantha, Stephen, Melissa, great-grandchildren Tyler and William. She also leaves to mourn her mother Martha of Portage, sister Elizabeth Caron (Bruce) of Winnipeg, brother William (Marjorie) of Amaranth, Manitoba, Arthur (Helen) of Portage, Phillip(Joyce) of Jasper, Alberta and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins and friends. Vivian was born August 6, 1933 in Neepawa, Manitoba. She grew up on the family farm near Harcus, Manitoba. Four for years she worked at the Portage General Hospital as a nurses aide. On April 16, 1955 she married Robert Morton and moved to Winnipeg. The family also resided in Trenton, Ontario for ten years before returning to Winnipeg in 1971. Vivian worked for 15 years as a nurses aide at Kiwanis Courts of Ness Avenue in Winnipeg. Upon retirement in 1955, her greatest joy was caring for her many grandchildren. She also volunteered numerous hours to her charities and was a strong member of the community. The family wishes to thank her many friends for their thoughts, prayers and generosity this most difficult time. Special thanks to HSC Trauma Unit as well as the Winnipeg Police Service for their outstanding efforts. We are extremely grateful. A Service of Remembrance will be held Wednesday, August 23 at 2:00 p.m. in the Westworth United Church 1750 Grosvenor Avenue., Wpg. MB.
