ASHLEY DAWN KOVARI On August 18, 2000 at the Health Sciences Centre with her Mommy and Daddy at her bedside, Ashley Dawn our beautiful, beloved daughter passed away. Ashley is survived by her loving parents, Kelly and Donna; her three precious pets, Muffin, Patches and Jewels. Also surviving are grandparents, Barb and Charlie Kovari (Nana and Papa), Grandma (Freda and Grandpa Ed), grandfather Ernie Leake; as well as aunts and uncles, Laura (Tom) and their children, Missy and Felicia, Marilyn (Derrick) and their daughter Bobbi, Neil (Tracy) and her daughter Ashlee, Corrine (Michael) and their daughters Nicola, Catherine and son Mikey, Lesley (Perry) and their children, Christopher and Kelsey, Lorraine and her children, Damien and Tamara, Shauna (Brian) and son Matthew, Norman (Zaila) and children, Andrew and Samia, Crystal (Mike) as well as Ashleys adopted grandmother Jo Becker; as well as numerous friends and relatives. The family would like to acknowledge the special friends and family who were prepared to donate a part of them so that Ashley could live, it is something that will never be forgotten, cousin Damien, Tom Zarecki, aunt Marilyn Stewart and many others who were tested. Despite Ashleys illness since being diagnosed four years ago she lived her life to the fullest, she never let the disease stop her from doing what she loved, horseback riding and going to rock concerts. Ashley attended Lac du Bonnet Senior School, she had just completed Grade 10 on the School Honour Roll. School was very important to Ashley. Ashley had a very kind and generous heart and always thought of other people before herself. A special wish to her friend Tyler whom Ashley met in the hospital. The family would like to thank Dr. Stobart and all Cancer Clinic Staff at the Manitoba Cancer Research Foundation and the entire transplant team and Dr. Unruh of the Health Sciences Centre for the care and compassion shown to our daughter. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 23 at 1:00 p.m. from the Lac du Bonnet Community Centre, Lac du Bonnet, Man. with Rev. Peter Cain officiating. Services will terminate with cremation to follow. Pallbearers will be Norman Leake, Neil Kovari, Damien Leake, Derrick Stewart, Tom Harrison, Brian Klimchuk, Perry Rindahl, Mike Bruneau, Raymond Dooley and Tom Zarecki. At the request of the family, flowers are gratefully declined and if friends so desire, Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Manitoba Cancer Society, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB or to the Manitoba Transplant Program, 1-204-787-1897 for more information. In tears we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away You suffered much in silence, You fought so hard to stay. You faced your task with courage, Your spirit did not bend But still you kept on fighting Until the very end.
