JAMES TOWNS 1903-2000 Jim was born in Kilsyth, Scotland to Peter and Agnes Towns (nee Maxwell). The family emigrated to Canada, Jim spent most of his adult life in Winnipeg. He was a talented musician and graphic artist. Jim married Grace (nee Gray) May 20, 1950 in a double ceremony with their life-long friends Ernie and Helen Johnston. In 1972, Jim & Grace retired to Victoria B.C. where they spent 24 happy years with Graces sister Helen and friends old and new. In 1996 the trio moved to Camrose AB to be closer to their family and Jim spent the remaining years until his death August 17, 2000 just five days before his 97th birthday. Jim is survived by his beloved Grace; sister-in-law Helen Gray; nephew Donald MacMillan and family in Camrose; loving godson Kent Johnston & family; sister Jessie; brother-in-law Harry Cooke in Winnipeg; sister Nancy in Edmonton; nieces & nephews, great-nieces and nephews and friends across the country. He will be sadly missed. No service will be held at Jims request, cremation has taken place. Jims ashes will be scattered at the Johnston cottage at a later date so he and Ernie can be together again.
