Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROYCE DOUGLAS BUDD Passed away at the Baldur Hospital on Thursday, August 17, 2000, at the age of 81 years, Royce Douglas Budd of Belmont, Man. Royce was born to Douglas and Hessey Budd of Somerset, Man., on November 6, 1918, the third oldest of a family of five boys and three girls. Royce left the family farm in 1938 and gained employment on farms in the Belmont area. In 1941 Royce married Hazel Spring. In 1942 he joined the army and was sent overseas with the Field Artillery, later transferring to the Army Service Corps. When Royce returned from the war, they took up residence in Belmont and he began working for the C.N.R. Later, he did some carpentry work, and in 1968 became the Water Plant Supervisor in Belmont. This same year, Royce also began driving the school bus from Belmont to Glenboro and for 15 years thoroughly enjoyed the kids as well as the numerous field trips. He retired from the school division in 1984, and from plant supervisor in 1987. Royce enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a handyman, having the ability to fix just about anything. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Royce leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Hazel; four daughters, Sandra Budd of Winnipeg, Dianne and John Harder of Winkler, Marilyn Budd of Belmont, Janice and Ray Achtemichuk of Black Falls, Alta.; two sons, Daryl and Tina and Bob of Belmont; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Joan Denker of Winnipeg and Patsy Fargy of Ontario. Royce was predeceased by his children, Gary and Davin; brothers, Bernard, Roger, Maurice, Stanley and by a sister Margaret Reid. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 23, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hillside Cemetery Belmont, with Rev. Margret Kristjansson officiating.
