Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIPHUS LESLIE ARTHURSON It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Iphus Leslie Arthurson in a tragic accident on August 20,2000 in Norway House, MB. Iphus leaves to mourn his daughter Karla (Dwayne Chupka) and grandson Corbin, his son Shane and granddaughter Brittany, and the mother of his children, Mary. Brothers, Bliss Arthurson (Connie), Selkirk, MB; Franklin Arthurson, Gillam, MB; Ralph Arthurson (Virginia), Winnipeg, MB. Sisters, Sarah Webb, Selkirk; Lillian Morrisseau, Selkirk; Merdina Cameron (Percy), Peguis, MB; Ila McIvor (Doug), Cross Lake, MB; Ivy McIvor (Terry Sutherland), Cross Lake. Sister-in-law Mildred Arthurson, Norway House. Iphus will be missed and lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews, a large extended family and countless friends. Iphus was predeceased by his mother and father, Susan and Arthur Arthurson; his brother Stanley Arthurson; brothers-in-law, Stanford Morrisseau and Wally Webb; and sister-in-law Mary Arthurson. Iphus was born in Norway House on July 7, 1943. He spent most of his life in Norway House and worked at many different jobs. He worked as a surveyor for a number of years at various construction sites in the north before returning to Norway House. He was an avid outdoorsman who hunted and trapped for a living. He was a skilled carpenter who helped build and maintain many of the homes in the Metis community of Norway House. For many years, Iphus served in the community as a town councillor, and as board member on the Manitoba Metis Local. He took on the responsibility as sexton of the St. Marks Anglican Church when his father Arthur passed away. Iphus was an avid reader with a wide range of interest. Iphus was a good father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Wake services will be held at his home and funeral arrangements have been made with the St. Marks Anglican Church in Norway House on Thursday, August 24, at 2:00 p.m. The Rev.
