Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH ALVIN SHARP Kenneth Alvin Sharp passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, Friday, August 18, 2000, in Fort McMurray, AB. Lovingly remembered and survived by his wife Carolynne (Lockwood) of Fort McMurray; daughter Tracey (Glenn ONeill with granddaughters, Danica and Sarah) of North Vancouver, BC; son Ronald (Mary Cardinal with granddaughter Kendra) of Fort McMurray; his brothers, Bill (Verna), Alex (Heather), Raymond (Gail) and sister Shirley (Ed Bachalo) all of Portage La Prairie, MB; sister Joan Pongoski (Edwin Caister) of Dauphin, MB; brother-in-law Larry (Sharon) Lockwood of Saskatoon, SK; 24 nieces and nephews; 48 great-nieces and nephews; many cousins; and good friends. He was born on November 25, 1942 in Portage La Prairie, youngest son of the late William and Isabel Sharp. Ken served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1960 to 1963, met and married Carolynne of Vancouver, BC in 1964. They moved back to Manitoba and Ken became a journeyman electrician. Ken moved his family to Fort McMurray in 1976 and later bought a home in Port Alberni, BC, so he and Carolynne could salmon fish. Ken loved the outdoors; he learned to hunt and fish from an early age and now hes gone fishing forever. Predeceased by his parents, William and Isabel; oldest brother Norman; brothers-in-law, Henry Fust, George Pongoski; great-nieces, Stephanie Sharp, Kelly Trallenberg; and nephew Kelly Sharp. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, August 22 at 2:30 p.m. in St. Johns Catholic Church, Hospital Street, Fort McMurray, with Fr. Jim McHugh officiating. Cremation has taken place and a graveside memorial service will be held at St. Marys Cemetery, Portage La Prairie, on Saturday, August 26 at 2:00 p.m. for family and friends, led by Rev. Ross Taylor. A light lunch will be served at the Gainsborough Community Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Hemochromatosis Society, 272 - 7000 Minoru Blvd., Richmond, BC V6Y 3Z5, in memory of Ken Sharp would be appreciated.
