JOSEPHINE PAWLOWSKI (BAILER) Passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 19, 2000. Josephine was predeceased by her parents; first husband Anton Bailer; second husband Anton Pawlowski; son Albin; daughter Eleanor; sister Bernice Johannson and brother Anton Grodecki. She is survived by four sons, Edward and Linda Bailer, Clarence Bailer, Gerald and Sharon Bailer and Terry Bailer; stepchildren, Marion and Brian Sandburn, Evelyn and Ken Maertens, Helen and Ron Prairie and Tony and Janet Pawlowski; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves her siblings, Annette Benjamin of Calgary, Francis Sudol of Vancouver, Angela LeBlanc of Vernon, BC, Emily Stone of Victoria, Mary Kowalski of Winnipeg, Joe Grodecki of Brandon, Johnny Grodecki of Calgary, Rose Yaskowich of Kamloops; sister-in-law Stephanie Grodecki, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Josephine was born in Wynyard, SK, married and moved to Winnipeg in 1946. She was a longtime resident of Transcona. Josephine made many friends by attending the local bingo halls. She was a kind, gentle person, a great cook and her door was open to all. Special thanks to the staff of the Misericordia, St. Boniface and Health Sciences Centre for their care. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 26 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (Across from the Royal Canadian Mint). A private interment will take place in Transcona Cemetery at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be David, Danny, Andy, Paul and Mark Bailer, Brian and Brenda Ostafichuk and Karen McBride. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart & Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, R3B 2H8.
