DAVID M. CAMPBELL Peacefully, early Wednesday, August 23, 2000, David passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital. Dad is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Rita; son Matthew (Holly) of Montreal; daughter Charlotte (Kevin) Kjernisted of Winnipeg and his granddaughter Bryn Kjernisted. Also surviving are his brother Jack (Fran) Campbell, sister Molly (Jack) Wilson. Dad was born in Winnipeg on December 19, 1927. In his younger, healthier years Dad was an avid sportsman. He was a founding member of the Winnipeg Squash and Racquet Club and an ongoing supporter of Ducks Unlimited. His annual duck-hunting trip to Saskatchewan with his son Matt and dear friend Ted Gyles was a highlight of every fall. Dad loved to go to the lake. Whether he was helping his friend Barry to build a cottage at West Hawk, playing bridge with the group at Victoria Beach or fishing with his son-in-law Kevin at Lake of the Woods, he was in his element. During his working years as a salesman, Dad travelled extensively and made friends wherever he went. Those of us who were lucky enough to have known him will remember him as someone who always saw the glass half full, loved life and his family. Thank you to the staff of the dialysis unit at the St. Boniface Hospital for their care and kindness and a special thank you to Dr. Junaid for his support. Cremation has taken place and there will be a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 28 in the Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, with the Venerable W. E. B. Oakley officiating. The service will terminate at the chapels. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
