ELIZABETH CALVERT Peacefully, on Tuesday, August 22, 2000, Elizabeth Calvert passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital in Winnipeg at the age of 93. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years William (1990) father Gregory (1941) mother Elizabeth (1968) brothers, George (1985) and Joseph (1996) Schieberl; her sister Marie McMillan (1998) her sister-in-law Peggy (1996) and her brother-in-law James Bulmer (1997). She will be greatly missed by her daughter Joan Wynnyk (Russell) son Allan Calvert (Betty) of Ancaster, Ont.; her brother Larry Schieberl; sister Marsha Bulmer; brother-in-law Theo McMillan of Hamilton and sister-in-law Wendy Schieberl of Buffalo, NY; her grandsons, Brent Wynnyk (Patty) and Blair Wynnyk (Tracy) of Winnipeg; Allan Calvert Jr. (Jennifer) of Brights Grove, Ont., Peter Calvert (Conchita), Andy Calvert (Lynn) and granddaughter Cathy Ruetz (Allan) of Hamilton, Ont. She will also be greatly missed by her great-grandchildren, Jenna, Jessie-Lynne and Spencer Wynnyk of Winnipeg, and Ashley, Melissa, Willie, Paul Joseph (P.J.), Nicholas of Hamilton, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Elizabeth lived in West Kildonan for 53 years, the last four years in the Maples Personal Care Home. She belonged to St. Anthony of Padua Parish ever since moving to West Kildonan. She was a long standing member of the Catholic Womens League. She enjoyed life around the Parish, and especially when asked to contribute her handiwork for events such as Parish bazaars. During her lifetime she enjoyed doing those many things that go into making a good home. She enjoyed planning and spending time in her flower and vegetable gardens. She enjoyed family and friends getting together, occasions that usually included time for card games. With family in Southern Ontario and Western N.Y. she enjoyed her trips to Hamilton and Buffalo. Her chances to travel also included trips to Europe, the Caribbean, Hawaii and other parts of Canada and the United States. She also enjoyed summer vacations with family and friends whether at the Beach, Brereton Lake, the Kenora area or Devils Lake. The family of Mrs. Calvert extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Maples and Seven Oaks Hospital for the love and care all the while she was in their care. Prayers will be said on Friday, August 25 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 26 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Burrin Ave., West Kildonan at 10:00 a.m., Father Terry McGrath officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
