LUCIEN MARIEN Lu Marien passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 23, 2000 at Concordia Hospital. Dad is remembered by his son, Irvine (Shelley, Ryan and Matthew) daughters, Karen, Helene (Bruce, Adrienne and Avery) brothers, Jo (Anne), Tony (Gisele), Lawrence (Yvette) sisters, Laura (Vic), Joan (Jene), Sister Aurora Marien; many nephews, nieces and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Jenet this past March. Born in Biggar, SK in 1915, he had a colourful and adventurous life during the Depression and service overseas during the war. He loved his country and traveled from coast to coast. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. An active volunteer, even in his later years, Dad donated his time and talents to many organizations: The Lions Club of East Kildonan, The Royal Canadian Legion No. 7, Meals on Wheels, The Salvation Army and St. Joseph The Worker Parish. Prayers will be held on Sunday, August 27 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Joseph The Worker Parish. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, August 28 at 10:30 a.m. also at the Church. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 222-6677.
