Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANDREW BARTON EWING STANG Andrew was born in Winnipeg, November 17, 1918, and died in Vancouver on August 12, 2000. He leaves his wife Betty, son Michael of Edmonton, and daughter Sheelagh of Toronto. Andrew was named for his grandfather Andrew, a prominant citizen of Winnipeg in the last century. His father was Walter Ewing Strang and his mother was Louise Barton. He also leaves his sister Mary Arnold of Sydney, Australia. Andrew grew up in the West end of Winnipeg, and graduated from Gordon Bell High School. He entered the R.C.A.S. and was a pilot instructor during the war. He joined the Canadian Bank of Commerce but held other positions in the financial field. He retired in 1983 as a Vice President of Volvo Canada. He will be well remembered by many people who will give thanks for having known him. The R.C.A.S. motto "Per Ardua ad Astra" was his motto as well. It means "Through Adversity to the Stars."
