DOUGLAS ERNEST MARTIN Peacefully, on August 22, 2000, Douglas passed away at Tuxedo Villa at the age of 81. He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Kay Taylor of Burnaby B.C., Edna Haines and Muriel Martin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, especially Jo-Anne Hnyduik, Ken and Lorraine Martin and Peggy Smith. Douglas loved sports and was active in speed skating, football, and in later years especially golf. He was in the Air Force for 5 years on the East Coast. He worked at A & B Garage, Veterans Driving School, as well as the post office until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of St. James Legion No. 4. Douglas was a kind and caring person who was always willing to lend a helping hand. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 29 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. at 12:30 p.m. Reception will follow the service in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre.
