Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKAY BURKOWSKI (nee GRYZKO) Loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully into her Lord Saviours arms with her family at her side on August 23, 2000. Kay was predeceased by her parents, John and Anne Gryzko; sisters, Anne and Mary; brothers, William and Peter. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her devoted husband Henry; daughters, Rita and Sharon; dear grandson Jared; brother Michael (Betty) numerous nephews and nieces and other relatives and friends. Kay was born on November 8, 1919 in East Selkirk, MB. At the age of nine years she moved to Walkleyburg, MB. At 17 years of age she moved to Winnipeg where she worked as a cook for many years. On November 9, 1949 she married Henry and resided on the family farm until 1953 when they moved to Winnipeg. She was an active member of St. John Cantius C.W.L. for over 30 years. Moms love of cooking and family and friends get-togethers was one of her greatest joys in life. Up until the end she always put everyone elses needs ahead of her own. Her exceptional kind nature will be remembered by all who knew her. Prayers will be held on Sunday, August 27 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 28 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 250 Burrin Ave., with Rev. Fr. Terance P. McGrath officiating. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jared Sibbald, Edward Boyko, Robert Grycko, David and Jason Claydon and Daniel Guenther.
