MURRAY DAVID WHITE (MURPH) Suddenly on August 23, 2000, Murray passed away in his sixtieth year, cherished husband of Kathryn Rayner and dear father of Kathryn Rayner Jr. Murray is survived by his close, loving family; mother Dora; brother Gary; sister Linda Charbonneau (Peter) sister Diane Pratt (Yvon) and brother Ross (Tizz) also by nieces and nephews, Debbie, Robbie, Karina, Kevin, Nicole, Paul and Sasha; two aunts, Wilma Hirsch and Olive Carey; mother-in-law Kitty Brattston; dear friends, Greg and Linda Shepertycki, Jim and Edna Emes, Doug Rayner and friend and cousin-in-law Bob Littlejohn and wife Betty. Murray missed his Aunt Annie, father David White; uncle Hank Hirsch and father-in-law Walter Brattston, who will be teaching him about life in heaven, as they taught him on Earth. Born November 8, 1940, Murray was proud of his more than 40 years in the printing industry, having successfully owned and operated, with wife Kathy, Whites Technical Services since 1982. He began his printing career at the CNR Printshop in his mid teens in Montreal, continued in Calgary and considered Winnipeg his home since being transferred here in 1970. Described by his friends, Murray had a heart of platinum (better than gold), was stubborn as a mule, persistent, genuine, and down-to-earth. His customers called him not only because of his unique knowledge, but because of his integrity, honesty, modesty and his friendly, easy-going, respectful personality. His lifes passions, besides his family and his business, were the outdoors, nature, canoeing, service to others, and old-time and bluegrass music. He had a very strong commitment to family. He was outspoken yet compassionate. He loved to laugh and especially enjoyed a good joke at his own expense. Murray was looking forward to having a party in his new sunroom (which well do anyway, in his memory), welcoming a new grandchild, travelling west and buying a motorcycle to recapture his youth. Although he loved flowers, Murray would have asked for donations to causes that support wildlife, nature conservation, needy children or foodbanks. Memorial service for Murray to be held Monday, August 28 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with reception to follow. Murray, we all will miss you. You died too young, but considering the chances you took and the close calls you had during your life, were thankful you lived as long as you did. Kathy wants to thank Bob and Betty Littlejohn, her mother, daughter and friends for their invaluable support.
