Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT JOSEPH PAGE December 20, 1911 - July 29, 2000 On July 29, 2000 Bob Page, beloved husband of Lilian Page, married 69 years, passed away at 88 years, seven months. He leaves to mourn his wife Lilian; daughter Yvonne of Arcata, Calif. He was predeceased by his son Brian K. page in April, 1981 and his sister May of N. Ireland. Bob came to Canada in 1930 from Lurgan. He attended Methodist College in Belfast. He met Lilian and decided to stay in Canada and they were married July 31, 1931. Bobs love of Rugby kept him busy, coaching and encouraging boys and girls to play the game. He made every effort to treat visiting Rugby teams royally. (Llanelle) and (Landsdown) enjoyed their stay here where they played in the Stadium. Bob also owned Teddy the Chimp who was the bomber mascot. Canadian Figure Skating Association after a long struggle, gave Bob the right to sanction new clubs which enabled boys and girls in Manitoba to take tests and go into championships, a privilege denied then. He formed the Assiniboine Figure Skating Club and was the first President, he was also a member of the Winnipeg Winter Club. Bob enjoyed being his own boss and ventured into many businesses, Page Department Store, Page Real Estate and Allcon Corp. Bob is survived by four granddaughters, Page (Brent), Sabrina (Bill), Deanna (Michael), Stacey. He has 13 great-grandchildren in California and Ohio. Also many nephews and nieces; his sister-in-law Mabel Dorsett, Ottawa, and Dr. Al Burrows, Arcata. Cremation has taken place and at Bobs request, no service. A memorial service will take place in Arcata, Calif. at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the First Lutheran Church, Victor St. or to the Alzheimers Association would be gratefully appreciated.
