HELMUT GRETZ Helmut Gretz passed away peacefully on Friday, August 25, 2000, at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Helmut will be greatly missed by his wife Betty of 48 years and daughter Linda and her husband Lou Sperber; granddaughter Danielle (Troy) grandson Chad (Cindy) and family pet Miki. Helmut was born on April 9, 1930, in Wiesloch Germany. In 1952 he immigrated to Canada and married his childhood sweetheart in Victoria, B.C., in 1954. Helmut was an honoured and respected Electrical Supervisor who was involved in the construction of many Hydro-Electric Dams for over 35 years. Funeral service will be held in the chapel of the Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., on Wednesday, August 30, at 10:00 a.m. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Lawn Reception Centre. Interment will be held at a later date in Germany. Donations in Helmuts memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
