MARCEL JEAN JOSEPH COTE With deepest sadness we announce the passing of Marcel Cote of St. Adolphe, Man., after a brief illness, on Friday, August 25, 2000, at the Victoria General Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his first wife Yvonne and by his granddaughter Gabrielle. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Karen; children, Denis (Marcy), Nicole (Jay), Jean-Paul, Anita (Parker) grandchildren, Juliette, Matthew, Miguel and Justin. He also leaves his parents Wilfred and Marguerite Cote; brothers, Raymond (Louise) and Gilles; sisters, Gisele Gervais (Ron) and Denise Crew (Philip) and their families. He will also be missed by mother-in-law Pearl McLeod; sister-in-law Kim Boulanger (Hal) brother-in-law Kelvin McLeod and their families; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and many good friends. Marcel was born in St. Boniface on April 3, 1952. He had been a quadriplegic for 19 years. Marcel was always on the go. He enjoyed working on old vehicles and his pride was his 1946 International truck. His present project had been relandscaping his front yard with the goal of making it look like a park. Marcel was always willing and enjoyed making the time to help his friends. Prayer service will be held on Wednesday, August 30, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Hwy., followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. Father Dr. Patrick Morand will celebrate the mass. Interment to follow in the St. Vital Parish Cemetery off Crescent Drive. The family would like to thank the staff of GH4 at the Health Sciences Centre and the staff at the Unit 5 South Wing of the Victoria General Hospital for their kind and compassionate care. Karen would especially like to thank Ron and Kim for their love and support during the last two weeks.
